· Gaming System malfunction voids all plays and pays.
The object of the game roulette is to choose which of 37 numbers (1-36 plus zero) will be the one that a spinning ball comes to rest on within a marked wheel.
Bets can be placed on individual numbers, including the zero, or on predefined groups of numbers. The highest payout is for a winning bet on a single number. The bigger the group of numbers bet on, the lower the odds, and therefore the lower the payout.
Players can place more than one chip on
the table, in several different places. For instance, a player could
bet on number 27, on all the red numbers, on the odd numbers, and on
the 3rd Dozen (25-36), all in the same game, and if 27 is the winning
number then all of these will be winning bets. If an attempt is made to
place more than the relevant limit on one position, then a warning will
be displayed and the maximum allowable bet will be placed on that
position.
When a player has finished placing bets on the table, clicking on the "SPIN" button spins the wheel which results in the winning number for that game being displayed. All the winning bets are then paid out at the odds below, and all other bets are cleared away.
Zero is a special number on the roulette table. Players can bet on the number zero in the same way as any other number, and it pays the same odds as any other number. But if zero is the winning number, there can be no other winning bets apart from a direct bet on zero, or any other bet where zero is involved. Zero is not odd or even, nor red or black.
A roulette wheel has a ring of numbered divisions or pockets into which a small ball will just fit. The wheel is spun in one direction, and the little ball is set spinning against the inside of the outer rim in the opposite direction. As the ball slows down it rolls towards the numbered pockets at the bottom. Small ridges halfway down the rim of the wheel then collide with the ball and send it bouncing around in a completely random way until it comes to rest on one of the numbers at the bottom of the wheel. This is then the winning number for that game.
NOTE: The spinning wheel display can sometimes fail due to the local processor load. The winning result is always correctly shown on both the table (by placement of the puck) and at the top position of the previous results column, and in the player game details report. If there is any inconsistency in the display, the roulette wheel should be ignored. This animation fault is not regarded as a game malfunction.
THE PREVIOUS RESULT SCREEN
The previous result screen is on the top right of
the game window. The display shows the numbers that have won, for up to
the previous seventeen spins of the wheel. These are only spins from
your current game session, so if you have only spun the
wheel three times during the current session, only three numbers
will be shown.
The Table - The betting table is laid out in a 9x3 grid showing all the 36 black and red numbers on the roulette wheel. Players can place bets on individual numbers, on two numbers at once by putting a chip on the line between two adjacent numbers, on the intersection of four numbers, on rows of numbers, and on several other specially marked areas on the table which allow for bets on the zero, or on such sets of numbers as, odd or even, red or black, high or low, and so on.
Straight Up - The bet is placed within the square of a specific number, and wins if the ball comes to rest on that number. This bet pays 35:1.
Split - The bet is placed on the line between two squares, and wins if the ball comes to rest on either number. This bet pays 17:1.
Street - This bet covers any line of three adjacent numbers on the table, such as 4-5-6 or 31-32-33. A street may be placed on zero-1-2 or zero-2-3. You will win if the ball comes to rest on any of the three numbers chosen. This bet pays 11:1.
Corner - The bet is placed on the intersection of four numbers, for example 11-12-14-15, and wins if the ball comes to rest on any of the four numbers. This bet pays 8:1.
First Four (Zero Section) - The bet is placed on the intersection of zero, 1 and the 1st dozen. This bet covers the numbers zero, 1, 2 and 3. You win if the ball comes to rest on any of those four numbers. This bet pays 8:1.
Six Line - The bet is placed at the base of the line between two vertical columns for example 25-26-27 and 28-29-30, and wins if the ball comes to rest on any of the six numbers. This bet pays 5:1.
Column - The bet is placed in one of the boxes at the far right of the table marked '2 to 1', and will win if the ball comes to rest on any of the numbers in that horizontal row. This bet pays 2:1.
Dozen - The bet is placed in one of the boxes marked 1st Dozen, 2nd Dozen, or 3rd Dozen, and wins if the ball comes to rest on a number that corresponds to the bet. For example, if a bet is placed in the 2nd Dozen box and the ball comes to rest on 18, that is a winning bet. This bet pays 2:1.
Even - The bet is placed in the box marked EVEN, and wins if the ball comes to rest on an even number. This bet pays 1:1.
Odd - The bet is placed in the box marked ODD, and wins if the ball rests on an odd number. This bet pays 1:1.
Low Numbers - The bet is placed in the box marked 1-18, and wins if the ball comes to rest on any number between 1 and 18. This bet pays 1:1.
High Numbers - The bet is placed in the box marked 19-36, and wins if the ball comes to rest on any number between 19 and 36. This bet pays 1:1.
Red - The bet is placed in the box containing a red diamond, and wins if the ball comes to rest on a red number. This bet pays 1:1.
Black - The bet is placed in the box containing a black diamond, and wins if the ball comes to rest on a black number. This bet pays 1:1.
